Programs

YLI's "culture of call" is comprised of four programs set to nurture young people as Christian leaders for their churches and communities:

Motown Mission Experience

Youth groups with students entering 7th-12th grades are invited to join us each summer as we gather in the City of Detroit to do home repair and service work for the people of Motown. This is our "front porch" ministry offering many middle and high school students and introduction to life and ministry in the city.

Metro Youth Encounter

A year-long, cultural immersion, and leadership development program for youth of the Metropolitan Detroit Area. Youth from a diverse collection of churches gather together once a month for a year, growing in their knowledge and practices of missional Christian living. Once MYE students "graduate" we work with them and their home churches to re-imagine, re-invigorate, or re-start youth and mission ministries in their home context.

Interns work 8 weeks in a Detroit ministry while living with other interns in a Detroit neighborhood. Stipends, weekly spiritual and vocational discernment activities, training, and fellowship opportunities provided.
