Detroit Villages is a pilot program of YLI. At its core this is a network of missional communities built and organized by people in local neighborhoods of Detroit, Michigan. Called "house churches" or "organic Christian communities" these emerging gatherings grow out of the specific, rich, and dynamic cultures present.

With a generous grant from the New Church Start Committee of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church YLI will seek through this endeavor to plant young people in the City, and support them in efforts to raise up new parts of the Body of Christ in the fertile ground of the Motor City.
